Uniform syllabus for Kumaun Universities has introduced "Wave Motion and Acoustics" as a full paper in its syllabus for B.Sc. I year, Semester II, Paper III. The present work is an effort to meet the requirement of this course. It is basically the modified, revised and actually rewritten edition of author's existing popular book "Elements of Mechanics" and "Mechanics and Wave Motion." The book has been divided into four units.
