This book in its present form is the first of three volumes of the thoroughly revised version of our earlier book on Elementary Mathematical Physics to serve the better purpose of the first semester of the revised and modernized course based on CBCS Pattern being taught (or proposed to be taught) at undergraduate level in all Indian central and state universities. The immense popularity of our original book on Mathematical Physics during last fifty years among the teachers, researchers and students of the postgraduate courses in Physics in all Indian universities and the Engineering courses in all-IIT's and Technical universities has encouraged us to bring out its elementary version in three volumes for different semesters. The first volume in the form of the present book serves the purpose of the first semester on CBCS pattern of Mathematical Physics course in the undergraduate classes of all Indian universities in general and the universities of Odisha and Jharkhand in particular All the four Units of entire course of Mathematical Physics prescribed in the first semester of CBCS pattern has been systematically distributed in eight Chapters (two chapters for each Unit) where the first chapter deals with the calculus of function of one variable and the first order differential equations (Unit-1) and second chapters deals with second order differential equations and existence and uniqueness theorems (Unit-1). The third and the fourth chapters respectively deal with the calculus of functions of more than one variable (Unit-II) and vector algebra (Unit-II) Fifth chapter of this book deals with vector differentiation (Unit-IV) and the sixth chapter covers the course of orthogonal curvilinear coordinates and related problems (Unit-III) Seventh chapter of this book deals with Dirac Delta function
