A uniform syllabus in Physics for All U. P. State Universities is being implemented for B. Sc. II from this academic session 2012-2013. Accordingly "Elements of Quantum Mechanics, Atomic and Molecular Spectra" constitutes paper III for B. Sc. II students. The present work is an effort to meet the requirement of this course. It is basically the modified, revised and actually rewritten edition of author's existing popular book 'Modern Physics' which has constantly been getting reader's support since 1971. It has strictly been arranged according to the requirement of new uniform syllabus except at certain places to maintain continuity.
