I thank you readers for choosing this book, which is my second effort to help the student community. After an enthusiastic response to my first book on Analytical Chemistry, I was constantly being asked by several friends and students to take up writing another book. The warm reception to my first book has indeed inspired me to make the present effort to cover Photochemistry; which has also been made a compulsory subject for all Organic Chemistry postgraduate students by the U.G.C., of late.
