In the preparation of Second edition of the book entitled ’’Inorganic Chemistry-I”, we were very much keen to make the contents in the book more descriptive which would reflect the present state of knowledge. The order of presentation of contents has been changed to some extent in order to maintain a logical relationship. Some new chapters such as Quantum Chemistry, Symmetry Elements and Group Theory, Application of Symmetry and Inorganic Reagents in Inorganic Analysis have been added in this edition. Some new topics have been added in chapters discussed earlier. Questions are being added at the end of each chapter to make the book more useful and competition oriented. Students preparing for NET and other competitive exam will get benefit from the book. The beginning of quantum chemistry started with the Plank’s quantum theory.
