The present book is especially designed according to the model curriculum of B.Sc. III suggested by the University Grants Commission, New Delhi. As for as the UGC model curriculum is concerned, most of the Indian universities have already adopted it and the other are in the process of adopting the proposed curriculum. In the present academic scenario, we strongly felt that a comprehensive book covering all the topics of the UGC model curriculum was urgently needed. This book is a fruitful outcome of our aforesaid strong feeling.
