The present book "Advanced Practical Chemistry" is an attempt to fulfill the pressing demand of B.Sc. Illrd Year, M.Sc. Previous and M.Sc. Final students of Indian Universities for a comprehensive book on chemistry practical. On the basis of their long teaching experience and careful study of the subject, the authors have tried to compile this book in a comprehensive, lucid and systematic manner which is easy to understand. The principles involved in various experiments and tests have been given in detail and explained with the help of equations wherever necessary. This is to develop habit of scientific reasoning in students and to ensure that they may not do their practical work only mechanically. Comprehensive tables of melting and boiling points of various organic compounds and their derivatives have been given for ready reference.
